Learn to Sew Series: Holiday Lights Table Runner

This class in our Learn to Sew Series features the Holiday Lights pattern by Karen Montgomery. Students will learn how to combine simple piecing with applique techniques to create a festive table runner that sparkles with detail. This project is a great introduction to specialty materials like glitter vinyl and invisible thread while keeping the process approachable for beginners.

Supplies
- Students should bring or plan to purchase:
- Holiday Lights pattern by Karen Montgomery
- ½ yard background fabric
- ½ yard backing fabric
- ¼ yard binding fabric
- Fabric or glitter vinyl for 14 bulbs and caps
- Fusible web if using fabric for bulbs and caps
- Cording
- Invisible thread (clear)
- ½ yard fusible fleece or batting
Basic Sewing Supplies
Students should bring their own basic sewing supplies to each class. This includes a sewing machine in good working order (with power cord and foot pedal), machine needles, thread, fabric scissors, small thread snips, seam ripper, pins or clips, measuring tape or ruler, and a marking tool such as fabric pencil, chalk, or erasable marker. All supplies are available for purchase at the shop.
